What a decade this year has been and it has only crossed the half way mark and its nearly impossible to mention and discuss the events that have happened in one article, so here we’ll just start with January. These are some of the major incidents in January.
The Dooms Year, as I’d like to call it, started off with the continuation Australian bushfires which started in September 2019 spread throughout the year destroying hectares of land taking multiple lives, and then finally coming to a halt in March 2020. This story created lots of headlines around the world and social media was flooded with posts and tweets of the critical situation in Australia.

On January 12th in Philippines, a volcanic warning was issued regarding the Taal lake volcano. The eruption occurred few hours later causing the suspension of educational, aircraft and many other activities and sudden evacuation. Taal volcano erupted 43 years after the previous eruption. The ongoing volcano caused around 2000 tectonic earthquakes.

The January of 2020 also marks the start of the flame that turned the world upside down, COVID-19 or the coronavirus. On 30th of January, WHO declared this outbreak as a Public Health Emergency. Though there have been many conspiracy theories regarding this outbreak, some which include that China created this virus to dethrone USA or for HongKong and the virus even though officially stated that the first case appeared on 1st December 2019, was started in August of 2019. Regardless of numerous theories, one truth cannot be hidden is that world knew on 30th January, that we’re in for something big.

January proved to be a filler for bigger things to come and no one knew that we’re all are going to be a part of a pit stopping phase in our history.
